From a new word in class to leading SEO work

Here is how I got into SEO, step by step.

2020 – 2022
+2 in Humanities
I completed my +2 in Humanities at Madan Smarak Secondary School.
2023
Bachelor of Arts, Tribhuvan University
In my first year I heard the term “digital marketing” for the first time. I also finished first year at the top of my BA class.
Digital marketing
Digital marketing course, Sikumna Nepal
I bought a 3-month digital marketing course and completed it. That is where I chose SEO as my niche.
Feb – Sep 2025
SEO course, Orka Socials Academy
A 6-month+ SEO course. I practised everything I learned on my own portfolio site.

Freelancing
About 3 months of freelance SEO work for my first clients.

SEO internship
I started a 1-month SEO internship.
Aug 2025 – Aug 2026
SEO Executive, Flowrage Technology
Full-time and on-site in Lalitpur for 1 year and 1 month. I was awarded Best Employee of the Month, and I took freelance clients alongside the job.

A startup SEO agency approached me to lead SEO work as Junior Team Leader. I continue to take my own clients alongside this role.

Why I chose skills over a degree

I topped my BA class in my first year, but I came to believe that a degree alone isn’t enough in today’s world. In my second year I left university to focus fully on high-value skills, starting with digital marketing and SEO.

I’m based in Patan, Lalitpur 44700, Nepal. I work with clients across Kathmandu Valley in person, and with clients across Nepal and abroad remotely.

Yes. I work as Junior Team Leader at a startup SEO agency, and I take my own SEO clients alongside that role.

Where did you learn SEO?
