Kids Personal Care SEO Case Study: 550% More Clicks in 3 Months

A US kids’ personal care brand had a loyal following but almost no organic discovery. Here is how a focused educational content strategy took it from branded searches only to ranking across an entire parenting research journey. I ran this campaign as an SEO specialist in Nepal working with US direct-to-consumer brands.

About the client

About Prereq Care, a US Kids Personal Care Brand

When the project began, almost all traffic came from people who already knew the brand and searched the company name directly. For every other question a parent might type into Google before buying, the site simply wasn’t there.

That is a growth ceiling: a site can only be found by people who already know it exists.

The problem

The Problem: People Could Only Find the Brand by Name

The brand had loyal customers, but Google only showed it to people who already searched for it by name.

The plan

Our SEO Strategy: Answer Parents' Questions First

Instead of building more product pages for a seven-product catalog, we mapped what parents were actually researching: the worries and questions that come before a purchase decision, not after.

Topics We Wrote About

Goals of the SEO Campaign

How We Created the Content

Articles were built around real concerns: eczema-safe deodorants, aluminum-free formulas, deodorant vs. antiperspirant for kids, and safe skincare routines for tweens.

These are the same conversations happening in parenting forums and pediatrician offices, brought onto the brand’s own site.

Results

SEO Results After 3 Months

The site stopped waiting for people to search its name. Google began showing it for hundreds of new, unbranded searches, such as deodorant for kids with eczema, eczema safe deodorant, best deodorant for tweens and tween skincare. That expanded the brand’s reach well beyond its existing audience.

Why Did the Click-Through Rate Go Down?

Impressions grew more than 20 times while clicks grew about 6.5 times, so the average click-through rate fell from 2.8% to 0.8%. That is normal when Google starts showing a site for hundreds of new searches at once.

Rankings did not slip: the average position improved from 7.5 to 6.9 over the same period. The site is now shown far more often, and slightly higher, than before.

Benefits

How SEO Helped the Business

01

Less Dependence on Brand Searches

Traffic began coming from problem-solving searches instead of resting entirely on people already knowing the name.

02

Trusted for Kids' Hygiene Topics

The site earned relevance around kids’ deodorants, tween hygiene, eczema-safe care and sensitive skin, a niche it barely registered in before.

03

New Customers Found the Brand

Google expanded the site’s visibility across thousands of search opportunities it had never appeared in.

04

Content That Keeps Bringing Visitors

The content keeps attracting visitors long after publication, a compounding asset rather than a one-time spend.

05

Help at Every Step Before Buying

Content now supports the reader from the first question through research, consideration and product discovery.

Key lesson

Key Lesson From This SEO Case Study

“A brand doesn’t need a hundred products to earn organic growth. It needs to answer the questions its customers are already asking.”

With only seven products, this brand could not win by adding more product pages. Instead, it answered the questions parents were already asking. That brought trust and traffic long before those parents were ready to buy.
