What is on-page SEO?

On-page SEO is everything you change on the page itself so Google understands it and searchers choose it.

That means the title and meta description people see in Google, the headings and copy on the page, the links between your pages, image alt text and structured data. Ranking is only half the job. A page in position 3 that nobody clicks earns you nothing.

Signs your pages need on-page SEO

Most of these show up in your own Search Console data. If you see them, your pages are leaving clicks on the table.

What my on-page SEO services include

Eight areas I check on every important page, starting with the ones that move clicks fastest.

Title tags

Written around the page's content and the searcher's intent, kept to around 60 characters so they don't get cut off.

Meta descriptions

A clear reason to click, around 155 to 160 characters, matched to what the page actually offers.

Headings (H1 to H3)

One clear H1 and a heading structure that follows how people search.

Search intent and content

Copy that answers the question behind the keyword, with gaps filled and fluff cut.

Internal links

Links from related pages with descriptive anchor text, so Google and visitors find your key pages.

Images and alt text

Descriptive file names and alt text, plus compressed images that load fast.

Schema markup

Structured data for your business, services, FAQs and articles.

URLs

Short, readable URLs that say what the page is about.

No random rewrites. Every title and meta description is based on the page’s content and the intent behind its keywords. AI tools help me draft options faster, and every title is reviewed by hand before it goes live.

My on-page SEO process

How I find the pages worth fixing and prove the fix worked.

01

Find declining pages

In Search Console, I find every page that is losing clicks or impressions and export the list.

02

Prioritise by business value

Pages that bring leads, bookings or sales go first. Not every page deserves the same effort.

03

Audit titles and metas

Rank Math and Screaming Frog flag titles over 60 characters, descriptions over 160, and missing or duplicate tags.

04

Rewrite for intent

New titles and meta descriptions written from the page’s content and what searchers want to see.

05

Fix the page itself

Headings, content gaps, internal links, images and schema, where the page needs more than a new snippet.

06

Compare in Search Console

After 28 days, I compare clicks, CTR and position with the previous period, page by page.

Proven results

On-page SEO results from real projects

I’ve done on-page and CTR work across 15+ projects. Below are sample pages from two of them, a clinic and a trekking company, with the raw Search Console comparisons so you can check the numbers yourself.

Sample 1 · Healthcare · Nepal

IVF clinic: title and meta description rewrites

A fertility clinic whose key pages already ranked on Google’s first page, but too few searchers clicked. I rewrote the titles and meta descriptions of its key service pages to answer what patients were actually searching for. Each screenshot compares the 28 days after the change with the 28 days before.

What the data shows

  • Page 3: CTR rose from 5.7% to 9.1% and clicks from 48 to 85 (+77%), while impressions grew only 12%. Average position also improved from 4.8 to 3.3.
  • Page 1: impressions stayed flat (1.95K to 1.98K), yet clicks rose from 22 to 31 (+41%) and CTR from 1.1% to 1.6%. A pure snippet win.
  • Page 2: impressions jumped from 43 to 649 as the page started showing for many more searches. Clicks grew from 1 to 8. CTR fell from 2.3% to 1.2% because most of the new impressions came from broader searches, which is normal when visibility grows this fast.

Sample 2 · Trek and travel · Nepal

Trekking company: more clicks from the same rankings

A Nepal trek and travel website with thousands of pages. I prioritised the trip pages that were losing clicks and rewrote their titles and meta descriptions based on each page’s content and search intent.

What the data shows

  • Page A: average position climbed from 26.3 to 15.2, clicks went from 9 to 23, and CTR almost doubled from 1.1% to 2.1%.
  • Page B: position barely moved (7.9 to 7.2), but clicks rose from 11 to 29 and CTR from 0.8% to 1.4%. Same ranking, a better reason to click.

Across the five sample pages shown, clicks grew from 91 to 176 in 28 days. These are examples, not the full picture. Results depend on your rankings, competition and how much the old snippets were holding you back.

What you get

Is on-page SEO a one-time job?

Not really. Search results, competitors and your own content keep changing.

A big first round fixes the most important pages. After that, I check Search Console every month for pages that start losing clicks and update them before the drop grows.

Tools I use

Platforms I work with

WordPress

Titles, metas and schema through Rank Math or Yoast, plus Elementor and block editor pages.

Shopify

Product and collection titles, descriptions, alt text and internal links.

Custom CMS

On-page briefs your developer can apply, or direct edits where the CMS allows.

Why on-page SEO alone isn't enough

A better page only helps if Google can crawl and index it, which is the job of a technical SEO consultant in Nepal. To beat stronger competitors, you also need useful content from an SEO writer in Nepal, authority from other websites, built through link building services in Nepal, and for local businesses, a strong Google Business Profile, which my local SEO services in Nepal cover.

On-page SEO pricing

On-page SEO is priced on how many pages need work and how deep the changes go. Send me your website and I’ll quote after a free review. Contract terms are flexible.

On-page SEO questions, answered

An on-page SEO expert improves the pages on your website so they rank and get clicked. That includes title tags, meta descriptions, headings, content, internal links, images, schema and URLs.

Google usually picks up new titles and descriptions within days to a few weeks. I compare 28 days after the change with the 28 days before, which is how the results on this page were measured.

It depends on your position and the search. A page in the top three should usually earn far more clicks than one lower down. I compare each page with its own past CTR, not a generic benchmark.

Google often rewrites titles that are too long, stuffed with keywords or don’t match the page. A title of around 60 characters that clearly describes the page is more likely to be shown as written.

AI tools help me draft options faster. Every title and description is then checked against the page content and search intent, and edited by hand before it goes live.

Sometimes. If the page doesn’t match search intent, rewriting it can help. If Google can’t index it, that’s a technical SEO problem to fix first.

It depends on how many pages need work and how deep the changes go. I give you a quote after a free review of your website.
